BORIS LAUNCHES HENLEY STANDARD WEBSITE

The Henley Standard launched its new website on Tuesday with the paper's first video interview with Henley MP, Boris Johnson.

Nestled amongst a host of new features, Boris provided the inaugural video broadcast to introduce one of the ways in which the new site will keep visitors up to date with all the latest news.

Updated daily, the site will keep everyone informed and, for those people constantly on the move, email and mobile phone updates are available to all registered visitors.

The site invites readers to have their say on each of the news stories by completing a simple form with their views and comments.

"The launch of the new site is not the end of this project, but the beginning," said Henley Standard's web expert, Jacqueline Alexander (Studio41).

"We have put together a foundation on which to build and plans are afoot to integrate more community driven features that our visitors can get involved with. We are inviting all schools and colleges in the area to have their own page within our site and this plan will be extended to clubs and associations in the coming months."

Movie trailers from the films playing at local cinemas are available to watch on the site together with details of where and when the film can be seen in full. Visitors will be able to view full listings of all the events in the area, the latest sport's news and previews, useful information on what's happening in the community as well as the properties for sale, job vacancies and classified advertisements.

"The site is built to serve the community and therefore advertisers will benefit," added Jacqueline. "We have put together a step by step guide for businesses wanting to advertise on the site. The options are designed to suit varied budgets. We want the site to be available to all business in the area - not just some."

Boris welcomed the arrival of the new site and paid tribute to the 'world's greatest newspaper'. Talking to Dan Hearn, he went on to discuss speculation on his imminent departure and how he feels about leaving Henley after seven years as the local MP.

"We were delighted that Boris welcomed the site," said Jacqueline. "Now we would like to hear what everyone else thinks."
